Cloud-based endpoint security solutions protect devices connected to a network (e.g., laptops, tablets, smartphones) against threats using cloud technology. These solutions are typically managed through a centralized cloud platform and provide continuous updates to endpoint devices. SECaaS (Security as a Service – SECaaS) is a business model where security services are provided by a cloud service provider. This model eliminates the need for users to manage security software and infrastructure on-premises.
SECaaS usually operates on a subscription-based model and can be scaled according to user needs. A hybrid cloud is a cloud computing model that uses a mix of private and public cloud services. Security in hybrid cloud environments typically involves a combination of the cloud service provider’s security protocols and policies with the user company’s own IT security policies. CASBs (Cloud Access Security Brokers) govern and secure a company’s access to cloud services. CASBs typically monitor and analyze traffic going to and from cloud services, enabling them to detect and prevent suspicious or dangerous activities.
CASBs also help prevent data leakage and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for cloud services.
